SKI Cross-Country in the Silver Springs Common Area

Willowbend Village resident makes use of the Willow Creek Open Space near her home.
In the Winter, Nordic cross-country skiing is a popular Silver Springs Community pastime.

The Canyons Ski Resort is the largest single ski and snowboard resort in Utah and one of the five largest in the U.S. This resort opened in 1968 as the ParkWest Ski Area.
Its 8 mountain peaks and 5 bowls are distributed over 3,700 acres.
Its highest peak is 9,990 feet.
This resort is around 1.5 miles from Silver Springs.
The Canyons has an 8 person gondola - named Flight of the Canyons, at the Cabriolet there is an open air gondola, and there are a number of high speed lifts.

The Park City Mountain Resort opened in 1963. It is located on the west side of Park City, Utah. Its 8 peaks, 9 bowls, and four terrain parks are spread out over 3,300 acres. The Eagle Superpipe, is North America’s largest superpipe. PCMR has received numerous accolades, was named a top-ten Resort by the readers of SKI magazine as well as earning the title “Terrain Park(s) of the Year” by Transworld Snowboarding magazine for the fourth year in a row.

SKI within six miles of Silver Springs
Snow Park (became Deer Valley Resort in 1981) installed its first rope tow in 1929 and its first lift in 1946. Deer Valley Resort has been honored with being named the #1 ski resort in North America by the readers of SKI magazine in 2002, 2005, and 2008. Deer Valley has two distinct visitor areas. Snow Park is the Deer Valley base area and is in close proximity to downtown Park City’s Historic Main Street, which is just 1 mile from the Lodge. The Silver Lake area is a European village, located mid-mountain approximately 3.2 miles from the Snow Park base area.
LUGE, FREESTYLE, BOBSLED within a mile of Silver Springs
The Utah Olympic Park entrance is located less than a mile from Silver Springs. During the 2002 Winter Olympics it served as the venue for Nordic Jumping events and sliding events including Bobsled, Skeleton, and Luge, also Nordic Freestyle Jumps. It still serves as an active training center year round for Olympic and development level athletes. Other facilities include the George Eccles 2002 Winter Olympics Museum, the Alf Engen Ski Museum, the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center, summer aerial training splash pool, year-round zipline rides, and mountain coaster.
For $65 you can take a summer bobsled ride at 4G’s and speeds up to 70 mph on a wheeled bobsled. For $15 or $22 you can take a zipline ride, or ride the Quicksilver alpine slide.
