Introduced the Hazelwood Group who owns 43 acres of the N.W. section of Silver Springs. Vern told the group that Hazelwood had helped pay $70,000 in back taxes and hundreds of thousands of dollars in liens.
Insource Inc. was being represented tonight by Dan Stringham and Jennifer Eliason (801-328-1501). They own the land around the lake. They the developers will take responsibility for landscape and maintenance of the lake area and berms.
Vern Hardman said that he owns 68 lots in Silver Springs.
Originally the mailboxes were included in the price of the lots ($125.00) but now new homeowners should pay for their own.
Streetlights have not been accepted by County. Call Lindquist for reasons. When we get the fixtures standard and posts maintained we will be more successful at getting them some power. We were advised to send a petition with a letter to the Summit County Board of Commissioners.
Lots 173 etc- area 1-C needs to be turned over or released to homeowners. Dues will have to be assessed homeowners so that taxes, etc. can be paid on released land.
30 to 40 feet between rise of berms and Highway 224

Minutes of meeting held October 29, 1984
We need to get Silver Springs Homeowners Association properly incorporated and listed in phone books, etc.
Various other areas of concern were voiced:
-Use copper sulfate for control of algae in lake
-Ditches are responsibility of County, Flooding along lots 134, 135, etc. need to be dredged.
-Entry sign and street lights at intersection of Silver Springs Road and Highway 224. Bill Ligety said that he had written a letter to the highway dept. reminding them of their liability at that intersection.
-School bus route was needed to extend further into Silver Springs subdivision.
-Now that back taxes had been paid Vern assured us that the County would plow the snow to the curbs. We were encouraged to mark our curbs with stakes.
-Silver Springs Water Company negligence in putting covers or grates on the out takes was discussed. Buzz Sandberg complained that it was dangerous for children’s safety, noting particularly the out take across the street from his house at Silver Springs Drive and Meadows Connection.
Vern Hardman asked for volunteers for a Steering Committee to check into the above complaints and concerns and to officially incorporate the Silver Springs Homeowners Association.
Volunteers were as follows: Bill Ligety, Ron Kobler, Fred Wasilewski, Mike & Lucy Murphy, Dale Boschetto, Mike Hardman.
Vern asked above volunteers to meet with him November 8, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. at this Doubletake Bldg. office.
Meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served.
